Client Growth Hub — Quick Guide

Audience: Growth, sales, and operations users working in the Client Growth Hub web app.

How to run the research-to-revenue loop: set up a campaign, review prospects, import to CRM, outreach with templates and sequences, manage pipeline and inbox, then use Dashboard, Reports, and Notifications. This guide does not cover Docker/API keys, provider credentials, workers, or telephony provisioning.

For product context see Client Growth Hub Overview. For deeper topic pages see the Operator User Guide and related Client Growth Hub docs.

What makes Client Growth Hub different

Unlike a generic lead list or CRM import tool, Client Growth Hub is built around policy-driven research and human approval:

  1. Your interview answers become the operating policy (who to find, limits, exclusions).
  2. Before research spends effort, you approve a read-only Research brief — the system’s interpretation of that policy.
  3. Candidates arrive with evidence, buying signals, and scores you can inspect — not just a name and phone.
  4. You Accept a business to find persona-matching contacts, then approve before CRM import; AI proposes, humans decide.
  5. Close the loop keeps approve → import → outreach → booking on one prospect screen.
  6. Pair with Engagement Hub for live SMS/call conversations after CGH has found and qualified the pipeline. CGH decides who and why; Engagement Hub runs the conversation.

Use Agent Runs when you need to explain what the AI did (status, citations, cost, failures) — research is meant to be inspectable, not a black box.

  1. Open the Client Growth Hub URL for your workspace.
  2. On Sign in, enter your email and password.
  3. You land on Dashboard. Data is organization-scoped — you only see your workspace.

There is no public self-registration. Ask an admin to create your user under Settings → User management (or avatar menu → User management).

Getting started (trial)

If your workspace shows a Getting started banner or docked wizard:

  1. Choose Businesses (B2B) or Contacts (B2C) — this also switches the Research / Prospects toggle.
  2. Click Next through each highlighted step while the system creates a sample campaign, loads fixture prospects, enriches contacts, and imports to CRM.
  3. Use Back, Restart tutorial (to take the other tour), or Dismiss.

Tutorial steps use fixture data and do not consume research entitlements. Live research after the tutorial still uses your org quota.

Workspace settings (admins)

Path: Sidebar → Settings

Use Settings before the first live campaign so research, messaging, and contact-request flows are enabled for your workspace.

  1. Under features / providers, enable what your team will use (for example AI research, Messaging, File uploads, Contact request, Email, Calendar, Engagement Hub).
  2. Review Signal catalog — which buying signals research should detect, their weights, and urgency (deployment-wide). At least one signal must stay enabled.
  3. Review Research priority blend — how Fit, Buying intent, and Urgency combine into Priority (must sum to 100%). Defaults are roughly Fit 45% / Intent 35% / Urgency 20%.
  4. If you request contacts at company offices, edit Contact request messages (sender, subject, body, call script).
  5. For Contacts / social research: review Social listening (listen interval, max post age, default communities, default listen keywords) if your team uses that workflow. Blank campaign fields fall back to those workspace defaults.
  6. Invite teammates: User management → create user (First name, Last name, Email, Temporary password, Role: admin or user).

There is no Settings “product mode” switch. Operators choose Businesses or Contacts on Research and Prospects; both can run in the same workspace.

Leave provider secrets and retention tuning to your operator. Skip Social unless you are running Contacts campaigns.

Campaign ICP and exclusions control who to find; the signal catalog controls what counts as a buying signal. After catalog changes, new research jobs use the new definitions; already-saved prospects keep old scores until re-researched.

Research campaigns

Path: Sidebar → Research (page title Research campaigns)

Use the Businesses / Contacts toggle at the top of Research (and Prospects) to pick the workflow. Businesses = company-first research with a structured brief. Contacts = social listening for person prospects (see B2C Social Listening).

Research is the most important part of Client Growth Hub. Quality in → quality out: a clear interview and an approved brief produce inspectable, high-fit prospects; a vague campaign produces noise you will reject later.

A campaign captures:

  • Who you sell to (ICP, industry, geography, language, buyer roles)
  • What you offer
  • Channels you may use after approval
  • Guardrails (prospect limit, budget, confidence, exclusions)
  • Optional scoring priority for this campaign

Interview answers are the source of truth. On B2B launch, the system builds a versioned, read-only Research brief from those answers — you approve the interpretation before discovery runs.

Research best practices

Follow these every time you create or relaunch a campaign:

  1. Be specific in the interview — Name the offer, buyer role, sector, geography, and size band in plain language. Prefer “independent dental clinics in the GTA with 10–50 staff; owner or office manager buys benefits” over “healthcare companies in Canada.”
  2. Start small — First run: keep Prospect limit low (for example 5–15), review Prospects, then raise the limit. For a quick smoke path at launch, choose Research modeSearch; use Standard for normal production (faster qualification first, deeper research only when facts are still ambiguous) and Deep when each company needs heavier qualification.
  3. Write exclusions you mean — Competitors, directories, franchise HQ, wrong org types, and out-of-area names belong in hard exclusions / disqualifiers so they never reach your queue.
  4. Name decision-maker roles — Tell research which roles to prefer for contact enrichment (owner, office manager, HR, broker, etc.). Generic “someone at the company” yields weak contact quality.
  5. Treat the Research brief as a gate, not a formality — On launch, read the generated brief (campaign / offer / ICP summaries, industry and geography include/exclude, hard exclusions, research questions, discovery queries). If it misreads your policy, Edit interview and regenerate — never approve a wrong brief.
  6. One outcome per campaign — Separate “find new clinics” from “re-engage past clients” or different geos/offers. Use Clone as draft when the policy should diverge.
  7. Use Demo fill only when creating a campaign — For demos and first drafts, choose Demo fill on the create chooser (not at launch). Walk through Demo interview (review & edit), save the draft, then launch with the normal brief review. Keep the prospect limit small until results look right.
  8. Human review still required — Auto-scoring and signals rank candidates; they do not replace Approve / Reject before CRM import.
  9. Use Agent Runs when results look odd — Inspect citations, failures, and cost before blaming the ICP. Fix the interview or brief, then use Rerun job / Run again, or Clone as draft.
  10. Run again vs cloneRun again (or Rerun job on a failed job) continues on the same campaign policy and skips companies already found for that campaign. Clone as draft when you need a new editable policy and a fresh discovery pool.

Create a campaign

  1. Open ResearchCreate campaign.
  2. Choose how to start the Guided research setup:
    • Quick interview — essentials (campaign name, offer, buyers/sectors, geography, prospect limit, scoring priority); other limits use conservative defaults. Good for a first controlled run.
    • Full interview — full policy (channels, thresholds, exclusions, automation, approval triggers). Prefer this for production campaigns.
    • Demo fill — fastest path for demos and pilots (see below). Always walk through and edit before saving.
  3. Answer prompts carefully (offer, ICP / industry, geography, language, channels, prospect limit, budget, buyer roles, exclusions). Turn on per-question AI help only when you want wording suggestions — you remain accountable for the final answers.
  4. Save the draft. Status shows Draft.

Writing strong answers (examples of good vs weak)

TopicPreferAvoid
OfferWhat you sell and the buyer outcomeVague “solutions” or brand slogans only
ICPOrg type, size, industry niche, who buys“Any SMB” / “everyone in the market”
GeographyCity, metro, province/state, or clear regionContinent-wide unless you truly serve it
Prospect limitSmall first, then scaleLarge limits before you have reviewed a shortlist
ExclusionsNamed competitors, directories, wrong franchisesEmpty exclusions on a noisy market
ChannelsOnly channels your team will actually use after approveEnabling every channel “just in case”

Demo fill (create campaign only)

Demo fill is an option on the Create campaign interview chooser. It is not a launch step. Use it to draft a full interview from a short plain-language brief for demos or a quick first campaign — not as the primary way to capture production policy.

  1. Open ResearchCreate campaign.
  2. On the interview chooser, select Demo fill (“Paste ‘we sell X, find Y businesses’ and auto-draft the full interview”).
  3. In Demo interview fill, paste a Demo brief of at least a couple of sentences (who you are and who you want to find). Example shape: We sell employee benefits to clinics in the GTA. Find independent medical, dental, and physio clinics with roughly 10–100 staff where the owner or office manager buys benefits.
  4. Click Fill full interview (button shows Generating answers… while working).
  5. Walk through Demo interview (review & edit) — each step is pre-filled from your brief. Edit anything that looks wrong (especially geography, prospect limit, and exclusions), then finish and save the draft (Draft).
  6. When you are ready to run research, use Launch research and the brief review flow below (same as any other draft campaign). Keep the prospect limit small until you like the shortlist.

Demo fill requires the workspace LLM provider used by interview demo-fill. If generation fails, use Quick interview or Full interview instead. After a successful demo, prefer Full interview or Clone as draft and tighten policy before large production runs.

Launch research

Demo fill is not part of this step. Launch starts from a saved campaign (including one created with Demo fill).

  1. On the campaign, choose Launch research.
  2. The app generates a versioned brief and opens Review interpretation before launch (Generated research brief). Review:
    • Campaign summary, Offer summary, ICP summary
    • Industries include / Industries exclude
    • Geography include / Geography exclude
    • Company attributes, Positive signals, Hard exclusions
    • Research questions, Discovery queries
  3. If anything is wrong, click Edit interview, fix answers, and regenerate — the brief is read-only. Do not approve a wrong interpretation.
  4. Choose Research mode (defaults to Standard when the brief opens):
    • Standard (default) — faster qualify first, deeper research only when facts are still ambiguous
    • Search — fast smoke path (no Deep Research)
    • Deep — higher-effort qualification on every resolved company
    • Demo Deep — shortlist for demos (5–10) (execution shortlist size; this is not the create-time Demo fill flow)
  5. Click Approve brief & launch.
  6. Watch Research jobs on the campaign. Status moves through discovery, identity, qualification, and finalize, then Completed (or Failed / Cancelled). The job summary shows requested / discovered / qualified / recommended counts.
  7. If a job fails, open Agent Runs for detail, or use Rerun job. To launch another job on the same active campaign, use Run again. To copy policy into a new draft, use Clone as draft.

When jobs complete, candidates appear under Prospects. If the queue is poor fit, tighten the interview (or clone) before the next launch — do not approve through noise.

Guardrails that shape research quality

Set these in the interview (Full) or accept Quick defaults, then verify on a small run:

ControlBest-practice use
Prospect limitCap the final shortlist; keep early runs small.
Budget capPlanning hint for cost-per-prospect — not a hard spend kill-switch; still start small.
Minimum confidenceRaise to drop weak fits; lower only if the queue is too empty and evidence still looks good.
Geography / industryKeep aligned with how you sell; mismatch is the #1 source of junk candidates.
Hard exclusionsBlock known bad fits even when they look “relevant.”
Org type includes / excludesPrefer clinics vs hospital systems (example) when that distinction matters.
ChannelsOnly post-approval channels you will staff.
Scoring priorityOptional campaign override of fit / intent / urgency; otherwise workspace Research priority blend applies.

Not every interview field is hard-enforced the same way. When unsure, run a small test campaign before a large one. Details: Research Campaigns.

Prospects

Path: Sidebar → Prospects (page title Prospect review)

Human review is required before CRM import.

Review the queue

  1. Open Prospects. Filter by status, campaign, or intent (High intent / Active signals). Use Recommended only to focus on the top-N ranked qualified businesses; turn it off to see the full qualified pool.
  2. Select a row → Review details to open the prospect.
  3. Work through the evidence (see below). Prefer Accept & find contacts over ad-hoc enrichment for the primary contact path.
  4. Choose an action:
    • Accept & find contacts — strong company fit; queues Contact Resolution for persona-matching people
    • Reject — poor fit
    • Override & approve — when status is System rejected and you disagree; use Why the system rejected this prospect to understand the guardrail hit first
  5. When contacts are ready, choose a primary contact and Approve & import. For several businesses at once: select them → Accept & find contacts (bulk), then import when ready.

How to review evidence and signals

This review step is the core of Client Growth Hub quality control. On Review details, check:

Look atWhy it matters
Fit reasoning / EvidenceWhy the company (or person) matched your campaign — approve only when the story makes sense.
Signals, Intent, Urgency, Confidence, PriorityBuying-signal and ranking cues from your campaign / signal catalog — high intent or active signals usually deserve attention first.
Contact hints / Ranked contacts / contact qualityWhether you have a named email/phone/LinkedIn, company channel only, or no contact path.
Company channels / Company locationsReachable office paths when a named person is missing.

If contact status is Contact not found or Company channel only, the company can still be valuable — enrich, Request the right contact, or import the company and find the person later. Prefer rejecting on weak fit/evidence, not only on a missing mobile number.

Before import, use Edit primary contact for import when you need to correct first name, last name, role, email, or phone.

If most of the queue is poor fit, fix research — tighten the interview, exclusions, or geography — then Clone as draft or regenerate the brief and relaunch. Do not “approve through” a noisy shortlist.

Enrich a prospect

Path: ProspectsReview details

Enrichment fills missing company or contact data without re-running the whole research campaign. Panels appear on the prospect detail screen when providers are enabled for the workspace.

Manual edit (always available)

  1. Open Company details & fit (or Person details & fit in B2C).
  2. Edit profile fields and fit reasoning.
  3. Click Save enrichment (or Save contact changes when editing the primary contact). You should see Prospect enrichment saved.

Enrich Prospect (Perplexity company backfill) — company prospects only

  1. Open the Enrich Prospect panel.
  2. Click Enrich Prospect to backfill company phone, email, socials, locations, and firmographics from the public web.
  3. Review Applied fields, Company channels, and Company locations.
  4. Use Refresh Prospect only if you need a new research call (may overwrite empty company fields).

Find or enrich the contact (Perplexity / ZoomInfo)

  1. On the same prospect detail page, open Enrich Contact with Perplexity and/or Enrich Contact with ZoomInfo (ZoomInfo must be Active under Settings; otherwise you see that it is not active for the organization).
  2. If there is no named contact yet, use Find Contacts to search for decision-makers at the company, then pick a match when offered.
  3. If a contact already exists, click Enrich Contact.
  4. For ZoomInfo: review Current vs ZoomInfo proposed fields → Accept Field / Reject Field, or Accept All Available Fields. Refresh may consume another ZoomInfo credit.
  5. For Perplexity: matching fields are applied when the run completes; use Refresh Enrichment only when you need a new public-web pass.

After enrichment, continue with Accept → Contact Resolution when you still need named people, then approve / import or Close the loop. Prefer Accept over ad-hoc Find Contacts for the primary path.

Import to CRM

  1. Select approved prospects.
  2. Click Import to CRM.
  3. Hub creates or updates Organization, Contact, Opportunity, and timeline activity. Already-imported candidates are skipped as duplicates.

Request the right contact

Path: Prospect detail → Request the right contact

Use when the company looks like a fit but you only have an office phone/email — or no named decision-maker yet.

  1. Confirm Contact request is enabled in Settings → Features, and templates exist under Settings → Contact request messages.
  2. On the prospect, open Request the right contact.
  3. Edit Email subject / Email body or Call script (defaults come from Settings).
  4. Click Call office / Send call or Email office / Send email.
  5. Watch Conversation / status (Pending reply, Completed, Needs follow-up, etc.).
  6. When you have the right person, update the primary contact (or enrich), then continue Close the loop.

Calls/SMS for this flow use Engagement Hub when configured.

Close the loop (detail screen)

Close the loop is the single-screen path from “qualified candidate” to “in CRM and engaged” — you should not need to jump across five apps for the first touch.

  1. Approve & import if not already imported.
  2. Optionally Generate AI message, then choose Outreach channel (Email (SMTP), SMS (Engagement Hub), or Call (Engagement Hub)) and Send this outreach.
  3. Or Enroll in sequence → choose a sequence → Enroll contact.
  4. Or Create booking / open the linked CRM contact or opportunity (Open CRM contact, Open opportunity, Open inbox conversation when shown).
  5. Use Request the right contact first if you still lack a named person (see above).

SMS and calls need Engagement Hub configured for the workspace; email needs SMTP. If a channel is missing, ask your admin.

CRM, Pipeline, and Tasks

CRM contacts (clients)

Path: Sidebar → CRM

  1. Search or filter Contacts.
  2. Open a contact to edit profile fields (name, email, phone, company, job title, language, status, tags) and review the timeline.
  3. Use linked Organizations and Cases for company lifecycle and service/retention tickets.
  4. Optionally enrich the contact (see below).
  5. From a contact, use the Bookings panel when you are ready to schedule (see Bookings below).

Enrich a CRM contact (client)

Path: CRM → select a contact

Use this when an imported or manually created contact is missing phone, email, title, or other firmographics. Enrichment panels sit on the contact detail view (below the profile).

  1. Open CRM and select the contact.
  2. Optionally click Edit to fix known fields by hand, then save.
  3. Enrich Contact with Perplexity — click Enrich Contact for public-web enrichment. Matching fields apply when the run finishes. Use Refresh Enrichment only if you need a new pass (may overwrite non-verified fields).
  4. Enrich Contact with ZoomInfo — available when ZoomInfo is Active for the organization (Settings → ZoomInfo add-on). Click Enrich Contact, review Current vs ZoomInfo fields, then Accept Field / Reject Field or Accept All Available Fields. Refresh Enrichment may consume another credit.
  5. Confirm the contact record looks correct, then continue outreach, booking, or pipeline work.

If a panel shows unavailable / not active, ask an admin to enable Perplexity or ZoomInfo for the workspace. Do not paste provider API keys into day-to-day screens — that is admin setup.

Pipeline

Path: Sidebar → Pipeline

  1. Open Pipeline (Kanban or list view).
  2. Create or open an opportunity: title, value, currency, stage, probability, expected close, linked contact/organization.
  3. Move the stage as the deal progresses (prospecting through won/lost).
  4. Open an opportunity’s Bookings panel to send a booking link when a contact email exists.

Tasks

Path: Sidebar → Tasks (Task center)

  1. Filter open or overdue work.
  2. Create or edit a task: title, description, due date, reminder, priority, status, owner.
  3. Clear overdue items daily so follow-ups do not stall.

Templates, Sequences, and Bookings

Templates

Path: Sidebar → Templates

  1. Create template — set Name, Channel, Language, Subject (for email), Body, and Variables.
  2. Review content, then Approve so it can be used in sequences and booking sends.
  3. Archive templates you no longer want used.

Do not put secrets, tokens, or sensitive customer data in template text.

Sequences

Path: Sidebar → Sequences

  1. Create sequence — Name, optional Campaign, Timezone, Daily cap, Stop on reply, Working hours.
  2. Add step for each touch: Channel, Delay / Delay unit, Template.
  3. Save, then activate when ready.
  4. Enroll contacts from Prospects → Close the loop → Enroll in sequence, or from your team’s enrollment flow on the sequence (Enrolled leads shows progress).

Bookings

There is no separate Calendar nav. Bookings live on CRM contact and Pipeline opportunity detail.

  1. Open a contact or opportunity → Bookings.
  2. Choose an approved email Booking template.
  3. Confirm the contact has an email address.
  4. Click Send booking link. Success shows Booking link sent.

Meeting activity appears on the timeline and feeds Dashboard metrics when bookings complete.

Inbox

Path: Sidebar → Inbox (page title Unified inbox)

  1. Filter by status or channel.
  2. Open a conversation thread; review inbound/outbound messages.
  3. Add an internal note for teammates when needed.
  4. Close, archive, or snooze the conversation when done.
  5. Use shortcuts to booking or opportunity when the UI offers them.

Outbound reply behavior depends on messaging providers enabled for your workspace.

Social inbox (Contacts)

Path: Sidebar → Social

For Contacts campaigns, draft replies from social research land here. Edit → Approve & publish or Reject. Publish is always human-approved from this inbox.

Documents

Path: Sidebar → Documents (Onboarding documents)

  1. Upload a supported file.
  2. Click Analyze document.
  3. Review extracted fields (company/legal name, registration, tax ID, website, industry, address, risk notes).
  4. Edit anything incorrect.
  5. Save profile into the CRM organization.

Treat uploads as sensitive customer data.

Dashboard, Reports, and Agent Runs

Dashboard

Path: Sidebar → Dashboard

  1. Open Dashboard for prospects researched, approved leads, outreach, bookings, pipeline value, and won revenue.
  2. Refresh after imports, research launches, outreach, or major CRM updates.
  3. Use next-best-action and signal insights when shown to prioritize the day.

Reports

Path: Sidebar → Reports

  1. Export CSV as needed: Contacts, Prospects, Campaign reports, Audit logs.
  2. Generate PDF executive or campaign reports (pick a campaign when required).
  3. Download from history when generation finishes. Treat exports as customer data.

Agent Runs

Path: Sidebar → Agent Runs

Agent Runs is how Client Growth Hub stays explainable: open a research or enrichment run to see status, citations, cost, campaign/prospect context, and failures. Use it in demos (“what did the AI just do?”) and when a job fails — then rerun if appropriate. The list refreshes while you stay on the page.

Notifications

Path: Top bar bell → Notifications (not in the sidebar)

  1. Open Notifications.
  2. Toggle Unread only or Show all.
  3. For each item: Mark read / Mark unread, Dismiss, or Open the related record.
  4. Use Refresh if the list looks stale.

In-app notifications surface workspace updates; they are separate from Engagement Hub notification rules.

Automations

Path: Sidebar → Automations

Use carefully — enabled rules can trigger follow-up actions automatically.

  1. Optionally click Seed defaults to load recovery-style templates (for example missed-call or stalled-opportunity follow-up).
  2. Open a rule: set Enabled, delay, threshold days, conditions, and actions.
  3. Click Save changes.
  4. Test with a small scope before leaving rules enabled in a live workspace.

Daily operator checklist

  1. Inbox — new replies and hot threads; Social for Contacts draft replies.
  2. Tasks — clear overdue items.
  3. Research / Agent Runs — finished or failed jobs (check both Businesses and Contacts if you use both).
  4. Prospects — approve, reject, enrich, Import to CRM / Close the loop.
  5. Pipeline — update stages; send booking links when ready.
  6. Sequences / Templates — enroll or send approved outreach.
  7. Dashboard / Reports — spot-check progress.
